PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A contractor convicted in the Central Falls corruption scandal is seeking more than $32,000 from the city.

The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1e6CAfO ) that contractor Michael Bouthillette (booth-ih-LET’) is trying to collect the money in a lawsuit alleging the city failed to pay his firm for work performed at Adams Memorial Library seven years ago.

Bouthillette pleaded guilty to a federal corruption charge and was sentenced to probation and community service last year, after his company made more than $1 million from a no-bid city contract. Former Central Falls Mayor Charles Moreau (muh-ROH’) also pleaded guilty to corruption and is serving two years in federal prison for accepting a furnace, home repairs and other work from Bouthillette.

An arbitrator has been assigned to the lawsuit involving the library work.
