NEW YORK (AP) - A winter weather advisory is in effect for the New York City area.

The National Weather Service says the advisory will remain in effect until 4 p.m. Tuesday. It means that periods of snow can cause slippery road conditions and limited visibility.

Snow accumulations of 1-to-2 inches and temperatures in the 30s and low 40s are expected. Snow is expected to turn to rain between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for a chance of rain in the morning with gradual clearing after 3 p.m. Temperatures will reach a high of 45.
