WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - A Waterloo man has pleaded guilty in connection with a crash last June that killed a Jesup woman who was a passenger on a motorcycle.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1dHFmwG ) Bryan Cornwell pleaded guilty Monday in Black Hawk County District Court to homicide by vehicle, serious injury by vehicle, leaving the scene of a fatal accident, leaving the scene of an injury accident and first-degree criminal mischief.

He will be sentenced to up to 35 years in prison and must serve at least seven years before being considered for parole.



Authorities say Cornwell was driving a pickup the night of June 22 when he struck a motorcycle driven by Derek Martie, then drove away. Motorcycle passenger Katlyn Leekley was killed and Martie was injured.

Cornwell will be sentenced later.
