PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. (AP) - Three people injured in a fire that destroyed a Port Townsend, Wash., house are reported to be recovering at a Seattle hospital.

The Peninsula Daily News reports (https://is.gd/DeHG5r) that tenant Mike Pruitt and two guests were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of smoke inhalation and burns after the fire early Monday.

East Jefferson Fire-Rescue spokesman Bill Beezley says the cause of the fire is undetermined. An investigation found it began in the living room and could have been started by a candle or any of three electrical devices. Damage was too severe to say for sure.

Beezley says Pruitt’s 16-year-old son was unhurt.
