PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Department of Public Safety patrols were able to catch more than 100 drivers speeding down US 93 over Presidents Day holiday weekend.

Among the 138 traffic stops, all but five were initiated and directed by the crew aboard the DPS fixed-wing aircraft.

DPS says deputies clocked one driver at 106 mph and 83 percent of speeders were traveling at more than 90 mph in a 65 mph zone.

The agency says 127 speeding tickets were handed out, five non-hazardous citations and three child-restraint citations.

Officers also discovered 11 criminal violations.
