RENO, Nev. (AP) - Hundreds of people were on hand at Reno-Tahoe International Airport to welcome home members of the Nevada National Guard.

There were hugs, tears, smiles and welcoming banners expressing thanks as the soldiers returned Sunday after a 10-month deployment to Afghanistan.

The Reno Gazette-Journal (https://bit.ly/1owuh5J ) reports about three dozen Nevada Army National Guard came home Sunday on two separate flights.

Members of the Army Guard’s C Company, 1/168th General Support Battalion were deployed in March of last year. They performed medical evacuation missions using Black Hawk helicopters in western Afghanistan.

Several members of the Patriot Guard Riders formed a line at the bottom of the airport escalator, carrying American flags.
