ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (AP) - A suburban Chicago-based newspaper says it’s endorsing state Sen. Kirk Dillard in the Republican primary for Illinois governor.

The editorial board at The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald (https://bit.ly/1dAGySp ) cites Dillard’s experience, suburban background and vision for the state

Dillard is among four GOP candidates running in the March 18 contest. The others are state Treasurer Dan Rutherford (ROOTH’-ur-furd), state Sen. Bill Brady and businessman Bruce Rauner (ROW’-nur).



Dillard also picked up an endorsement from the Illinois Education Association endorsement on Friday.

Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn is seeking re-election and faces one primary challenger, activist Tio Hardiman.
