SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Vermont Gas, the natural gas company serving the northwestern part of the state, is lowering its rates again - this time by 2.1 percent.
The South Burlington-based company says it is passing along lower charges from TransCanada to its business and residential customers.
The company says the cut taking effect this month is the 17th rate reduction Vermont Gas has implemented, beginning in 2008 and resulting in prices that are now 48 percent less than fuel oil and 60 percent lower than propane.
Vermont Gas currently serves Franklin and Chittenden counties, and is working on expanding south to Addison and Rutland counties.
