COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho (AP) - A northern Idaho man who stabbed another man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.

The Coeur d’Alene Press reports (https://bit.ly/1bzg3Oo) in a story on Saturday that 22-year-old Jayde Brown received the sentence in 1st District Court. He must serve three years before becoming eligible for parole.

Brown in November pleaded guilty to battery with the intent to commit a serious felony.

In exchange for the guilty plea a charge of first-degree attempted murder was dropped.

Prosecutors say Brown and the victim had an altercation on Oct. 2, and minutes later Brown rode by the victim on a bicycle and stabbed him in the chest as he passed.
