GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) - Police in the east Portland suburb of Gresham say SWAT officers have rescued a man held against his will in an apartment for several days.
Lt. Claudio Grandjean said the man rescued Friday was not seriously injured. Police have not released his name. Portland police had previously listed him as missing.
Police said Friday night that two men were being booked into jail for investigation of offenses including kidnapping and robbery. They say the victim and the suspects did not know each other previously and details on how they met are still unavailable. Detectives say the suspects accessed the victim’s bank account and stole money from it.
Grandjean said earlier that police received information about a man possibly held captive and were able to verify some of it. They called in a SWAT team because of the possibility that one of the suspects was armed.
