RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Testimony has ended in a civil lawsuit accusing U.S. Senate candidate Greg Brannon and another defendant of misleading investors in a now-defunct company.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reports (https://bit.ly/1dul2Pg ) the Republican Senate hopeful and Cary obstetrician was never called to testify this week as court adjourned Friday. Closing arguments are set for Monday in Wake County Superior Court.
Larry Piazza and Sam Lampuri accuse Brannon and the company’s former CEO of giving false and misleading information about Verizon’s interest in the app. They want $250,000 back that they invested in Neogence Enterprises
Brannon was a company director and argued in documents the plaintiffs understood the risks of speculative investments.
Another former company director and acting CEO testified most of Friday.
