DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) - Health officials say a spill of about 600 gallons of deicing fluid has been reported at a regional airport in northwest North Dakota.

Kris Roberts of the North Dakota Department of Health says the spill likely occurred Monday. The agency was notified Friday morning.

Roberts says airport authorities say the fluid is not toxic to humans or animals. He says the fluid appears to have been completely cleaned off the tarmac.

The manager of the airport in Dickinson did not immediately return a request for comment Friday.

Health officials will inspect the airport on Tuesday.

Roberts says the party responsible for the spill had the obligation to notify authorities within 24 hours of the incident. He says it hasn’t been determined who is responsible for the spill.
