PECK, Idaho (AP) - Authorities in northern Idaho say one man is dead and another is charged with the shooting at a mobile home in Peck.

Police tell the Lewiston Tribune (https://bit.ly/1gvpGeG) that 27-year-old Christopher Jack Partee reported shooting another man at about 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Nez Perce County Sheriff Joe Rodriguez says the victim, Coby Bloodsworth, was shot twice with a .40 caliber handgun.

Partee made his first appearance on a second-degree murder charge in Nez Perce County Magistrate Court on Wednesday afternoon. Magistrate Gregory Kalbfleisch set a preliminary hearing for Feb. 26. Partee’s bail was set at $1 million.

Rodriguez says the shooting might have been caused by a possible altercation between the two men that started at a gas station in Orofino.
