TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - Silver Airways is reducing the number of roundtrip flights between Greenville, Tupelo and Atlanta.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1fdBbVR ) the new schedule will begin March 3, but details are still being worked out.
Tupelo Regional Airport executive director Josh Abramson says he’ll meet Thursday with officials with the Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based regional airline.
Local officials have said fewer flights mean more passengers on planes and more rest to pilots between flights.
Silver Airways has been providing service between Greenville, Tupelo and Atlanta since October 2012.
Tupelo and Greenville’s mayors had written a letter to Silver last month requesting the airline reduce the number of roundtrip flights in order to improve service.
