ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - An Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman says a man who had been reported missing on a snowmobile trip in northwest Alaska has been found safe.

The Anchorage Daily News reports that spokeswoman Megan Peters says searchers found 28-year-old Jared A. Walker unharmed Tuesday afternoon in a creek bed about seven miles northeast of Kiana.

She says a plane flying in the area spotted him. Searchers on snowmobiles were bringing him out.

Walker had last been seen about 4 p.m. Sunday leaving Kiana on a trip to Selawik (SEL’-ah-wik) - a distance of about 30 miles.
