WEST UNION, W.Va. (AP) - A Doddridge County teenager convicted of killing his parents and sister will spend at least 30 years in prison.

Media outlets report that 18-year-old Joseph Spencer received three life sentences with mercy on Monday in Doddridge County Circuit Court.

Judge Tim Sweeney ordered two of the sentences to be served consecutively. That means Spencer will be eligible for parole in 30 years.

The third sentence will be served concurrent to the others.

Spencer pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder in January.

Prosecutors say he fatally shot 49-year-old Frederick Arthur Spencer III, 47-year-old Dixie Lee Spencer and 9-year-old Patience Spencer at the family home in West Union in 2012.
