HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - A police official says investigators have theories about the disappearance and slaying of a Huntington woman.
But Cabell County sheriff’s chief deputy Doug Ferguson tells The Herald-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1fVC8psV ) that detectives lack evidence to form a criminal charge.
A Lincoln County man found 21-year-old Diane Bess’ body over an embankment along W.Va. Route 10 on Jan. 17. Bess was last seen leaving her mother’s residence on Dec. 24, 2013.
Ferguson says investigators haven’t determined when or where Bess was killed.
Her death is being investigated by the sheriff’s department and Huntington police.
