LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Forestry Commission has identified a pilot who went missing during a wildfire survey in western Arkansas.

Forestry officials said Saturday that 34-year-old Jake Harrell has worked as a pilot for the commission since 2005 and has “flown many times” on the route he traveled on Friday afternoon. The forestry commission says Harrell also is a North Little Rock Police Department employee.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1bMWwEo ) that authorities are still searching for Harrell. Forestry officials say he was last heard by the commission’s dispatch at 1:11 p.m. Friday. Harrell had taken off from Oden in a Cessna 210 single-engine plane and was bound for Wickes.

Commission spokesman Adriane Barnes says that there are several aircraft flying over the Wickes and Oden areas looking for Harrell.
