Moviegoers will soon be able to watch the first date between President Obama and the first lady in a new Hollywood film called “Southside With You.”

The film will depict the future President and first lady on their first date in 1989, when first-year-law student Barack Obama wooed the future Michelle Obama – then Robinson — on a trip around Chicago, the Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

The Obamas, who were married in 1992, described the date in an interview on the campaign trail during the 2012 race. They told reporters they visited the Art Institute in Chicago, took a long walk around the city and went to see Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing.”

“Get on Up” actress Tika Sumpter will star as the young first lady but no actor has been cast to play the future president yet.

Richard Tanne will direct the flick from a script he wrote. The film is set to begin shooting in Chicago in July, The Hollywood Reporter said.
