BOSTON (AP) — Two Boston police officers were hospitalized after they were attacked allegedly by six teenagers related to a person they were arresting.
The Boston Herald reported that the officers, a woman and a man, went to an apartment in the Roxbury neighborhood Monday to serve a warrant on a 19-year-old man for defaulting on court appearances.
The police report says when the officers found the man in a rear stairwell, he attacked them. Police say several people came to the man’s aid and “kicked, punched, and choked” the officers.
They used pepper spray to fight off the attackers and other officers arrived.
Their injuries are not life threatening.
The teens, including four girls, range in age from 13 to 18 and are charged with assault and battery on a police officer.
