The Rev. Al Sharpton and Sony Pictures Entertainment co-Chairman Amy Pascal will meet face-to-face for the first time since her racial emails regarding President Obama were leaked by the hacking group “Guardians of Peace.”
Ms. Pascal will meet with Mr. Sharpton on Thursday, just one day after Sony Pictures decided to cancel its Dec. 25 release of “The Interview,” The Los Angeles Times reported Thursday.
“Should I ask him if he liked DJANGO?” Ms. Pascal wrote in one email to producer Scott Rudin prior to a political event the president would be attending. She and Mr. Rudin joked in multiple exchanges about the kind of movies and Hollywood stars Mr. Obama might have an affinity for, although all of them centered around his race.
Ms. Pascal called her comments “insensitive and inappropriate, but not an accurate reflection of who I am,” during an apology released online last week.
