MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Customers of Vermont’s largest electric utility are going to be seeing their rates go down.

On Wednesday the Vermont Public Service Board approved a request by Green Mountain Power to reduce its rates.

The board approved a rate reduction of 2.46 percent. The decrease takes effect on Oct. 1.

GMP says it is its second GMP rate reduction in three years.
