President Obama next month will visit Estonia and meet with Baltic leaders to “reaffirm” the U.S. commitment to security in the region, White House officials said Friday.
While in the Estonian capital of Tallinn, the president will meet with Estonia’s prime minister, Taavi Roivas, and the nation’s president, Toomas Hendrik Ilves. Mr. Obama also will meet with the leaders of Latvia and Lithuania, with the ongoing crisis in Ukraine a key topic of discussion, said Caitlin Hayden, National Security Council spokeswoman.
Following those meetings, Mr. Obama will travel to Wales for a NATO summit on Sept. 4 and 5
