MONTICELLO, Ark. (AP) - University of Arkansas at Monticello Chancellor Jack Lassiter has announced plans to retire as of Dec. 31.

Lassiter made the announcement at a campus meeting Tuesday. He said he plans to spend more time with his family that includes three children and seven grandchildren.

Lassiter has served as chancellor at UAM since 2004.



UA System President Donald Bobbitt said he will conduct a national search in consultation with UAM faculty and staff to find Lassiter’s successor.
