Robber takes cash, phones from motel

VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - Police in Vicksburg say a man got away with cash and two mobile phones in a holdup Monday at a local motel.

Lt. Sandra Williams tells The Vicksburg Post (https://bit.ly/R1mH76 ) the suspect took “a substantial amount of cash” from the Dixiana Motel.

Williams says the man walked into the motel office with a weapon at about 8 a.m. and demanded money.

She says investigators believe he took the phones to keep the clerk from calling police.
