LOS ANGELES (AP) - The man suspected of walking into a Los Angeles police station and opening fire on an officer is a 29-year-old from Los Angeles who had licenses to work as a security guard and carry a gun.
Police say Daniel C. Yealu (yay-AH-loo) is in a hospital in critical condition Tuesday, after the officer returned fire and shot him in the station on Monday night.
Public records show Yealu had a license to work as a security guard starting in 2005 and a license to carry a firearm starting in 2007.
Police say he used a pistol in the attack after telling officers he had a complaint.
Police found an assault rifle in his car and several more guns at his home.
