TOWN OF WILSON, Wis. (AP) - Kohler Co. executives have publicly confirmed its plans to a fifth golf course in Sheboygan County.

The company’s general manager of the hospitality division, Michael Belot, told Town of Wilson officials Monday night that Kohler wants to build an 18-hole course on about 250 acres it owns along Lake Michigan, north of Kohler Andrae State Park. Kohler recently scrapped plans to build a wilderness retreat called the Tented Forest on the site.

WLUK-TV (https://bit.ly/1hzBU46 ) says Belot would not provide additional plan details, only that it will include a clubhouse and maintenance facility.

The town board will be asked to issue a conditional use permit for the project.

Kohler already has four 18-hole courses in the area - two at Whistling Straits and two at Blackwolf Run. They’ve hosted major championships in recent years.
