CATHERINE, Ala. (AP) - State troopers in western Alabama say two people have died after crashing into a wild boar.

Sgt. Steve Jarrett said in a statement that 48-year-old Camilla Allen of Pine Hill and 54-year-old Ronnie Mitchell of Thomasville hit the animal south of Catherine early Tuesday morning, veered from the road and overturned several times before coming to a stop. Catherine is about 35 miles southwest of Selma.

Jarrett says the two weren’t wearing seatbelts at the time.
