SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Police in southeast South Dakota say a man suspected of stabbing another man has been charged with aggravated assault.

Sam Clemens with the Sioux Falls Police Department says 24-year-old Christopher Joel Mousseau was arrested and charged on Monday.

The Argus Leader (https://argusne.ws/1fXHVLL ) reports police were called to a local hospital around 1 a.m. Monday after a 37-year-old man was rushed into emergency surgery with several cuts to the face, including one along his jaw line.

Clemens says the victim spoke to police after the surgery and officers later learned the man had been in a fight with Mousseau.

Clemens says Mousseau was the one who was beat up during the fight. Clemens says Moussseau later pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.

The victim was not identified.
