PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - A Cornish woman is facing charges after police say she was caught on radar driving 124 miles per hour with two young children in her car.

Police say a trooper spotted 25-year-old Cheryl Gilson speeding and weaving in and out of traffic on the Maine Turnpike in Saco at about 2 p.m. Sunday.

The Portland Press Herald (https://bit.ly/PErk69 ) reports that a trooper followed her for several miles, although not at high speeds, until he pulled her over in Portland.

Police say in addition to three adult men, Gilson’s 3- and 5-year-old-children were in the vehicle. They were unharmed.

Gilson was charged with criminal speed, driving to endanger, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She was released on $250 bail.
