JENKINTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a person was struck and killed by a commuter train in suburban Philadelphia during the evening rush hour.

Abington Township police said it happened around 5 p.m. Monday.

Police said someone was struck on the tracks between the Jenkintown-Wyncote train station in Jenkintown and the Noble station in Abington.



The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority’s West Trenton Regional Rail line was suspended due to the accident.

An investigation is underway.
