RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Leading North Carolina U.S. Senate candidates are announcing their fundraising totals so far this year before they’re required to tell election regulators next week.
Democratic Sen Kay Hagan’s campaign said late Monday she will report raising nearly $2.8 million during the first quarter, leaving her with more than $8 million in campaign coffers. The incumbent has held a fundraising advantage over the eight Republicans seeking to replace her.
Thom Tillis’ campaign said Monday it had raised about $1.3 million for the three months ending March 31 and had about that much money on hand. Greg Brannon said in a fundraising email he raised more than $500,000 in the quarter. Mark Harris’ campaign said it wasn’t ready to release his figures.
The Republicans and Hagan are on May 6 primary ballots.
