ALLENDALE, Mich. (AP) - It was a day of seeing double this weekend at school in western Michigan.
Grand Valley State University in Allendale on Sunday held event to celebrate twins who are students. The school says there are 101 sets of twins this year, and The Grand Rapids Press (https://bit.ly/1jSlfy2 ) says that 52 sets of currently enrolled twin students showed up.
They were joined by 12 sets of twins who are alumni and even a few infant twins. A group photo has captured the event at the campus arena.
Kim Schmidt of the university’s alumni office says that 101 is “just a cool statistic.” She says campus number-crunchers were able to come up with the figure by checking records for students with the same last name and date of birth.
