ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) - An Illinois man has been sentenced for fatally shooting a Wisconsin woman while the two were passengers in a vehicle on a freeway.

A judge on Monday sentenced Kody Walsh of Rockford to 100 years in prison for first-degree intentional homicide and 10 years for unlawful aggravated restraint, to be served consecutively.

The Beloit Daily News (https://bit.ly/1hy3a2W ) reports Walsh also was sentenced to six years for eluding police. That sentence will be served concurrent with the other sentences.

Walsh was convicted of killing 36-year-old Lori Daniels of Afton, Wis., on Sept. 9, 2012, in an SUV traveling on Interstate 39/90 from Rockford to the Beloit area. Prosecutors say Walsh fired two shots in Daniels’ head and demanded the driver continue to Beloit. Walsh was captured a week later in Tennessee.
