CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) - Sex charges have been dismissed against the former director of a Cedar City group home for troubled girls.
The Iron County Attorney’s Office, in a news release Friday, says the charges against 42-year-old Daniel Taylor were dropped after an investigation determined some witnesses and victims had lied about the initial allegations.
The release also notes several of the alleged victims were “unable and unwilling to participate in the prosecution due to severe psychiatric and emotional issues.”
The Spectrum of St. George reports (https://bit.ly/1smulHf) among charges dropped were first-degree felony counts of rape and aggravated sexual abuse of a child.
The charges stemmed from alleged actions involving three girls before Taylor’s arrest last June.
Taylor was director of the Integrity House for a number of years until 2012.
