MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Three more Alabama National Guard units are heading to Afghanistan.

The Air National Guard’s 187th Fighter Wing is deploying from Montgomery’s Dannelly Field on Saturday morning. Gov. Robert Bentley plans to attend the ceremony.

The unit’s F-16 fighters will provide air support for ground operations.

Also on Saturday, the Forward Support Company Guard’s 877th Engineer Battalion will have a departure ceremony at a church in Northport.

Meanwhile, the Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 877th and the 1305th Survey and Design Team will have a deployment event in Haleyville. Both groups will train extensively before moving overseas.
