MILFORD, Mass. (AP) - A Framingham woman charged with running a stop sign and striking an ambulance, killing the patient inside, has been released with no bail.
The Milford Daily News (https://bit.ly/1gt815k ) reports that not guilty pleas were entered on behalf of 61-year-old Lisa Zemack at her arraignment Thursday to several charges including motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation. She is not allowed to drive.
Police say a Mercedes Benz driven by Zemack struck the ambulance in Milford on Jan. 21.
The patient, identified as 58-year-old Karen Scott of Upton, lying in a stretcher, went into cardiac arrest and died. She was returning to a nursing center after receiving dialysis.
Zemack previously told police that she did not see the stop sign. Neither she nor her lawyer commented outside court.
