PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Portland police have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with a series of robberies at clothing stores last year.

Sgt. Pete Simpson says Thaddeus Lindsay-Woods was arrested Friday at a place on Southeast Division Street. He was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on robbery charges and will be arraigned Monday.

The authorities had been trying to find a man dubbed the “Nerdy Bandit” since October, when robberies were reported at American Apparel stores and Urban Outfitters.

The suspect wore black-rimmed glasses and a witness described him as “nerdyish.”

Simpson says a forensic sketch and tips from the public helped solve the case.
