LONDONDERRY, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man has been accused of barricading himself inside a house and being armed with a hatchet and knives in a standoff with police that lasted several hours.

Forty-four-year-old William Silva of Londonderry was charged with criminal threatening, resisting arrest, and being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon Friday. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer.

Police negotiated with Silva until 4 a.m., when officers entered and took him into custody following a brief confrontation. No injuries were reported.
