FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - A summons has been issued for a former Fort Wainwright soldier suspected of stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of furniture.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (https://bit.ly/1dU7Y8k) reports a summons has been issued for Oluwatosin Samuel Ayeni, who now lives in Missouri City, Texas.

A criminal complaint says Ayeni made plans to buy furniture for $15,000 but did not sign the purchase agreement.

Investigators say he removed the furniture without the Fairbanks homeowner’s permission in May 2013 and then sublet the property without the owner’s knowledge.

The Army Criminal Investigation Division investigated the case and transferred it to city police.

Police say the activity took place as Ayeni was leaving the Army. He’s charged with felony theft.
