TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) - Three men face charges in the drug-related death of a southern New Jersey woman.
Ocean County prosecutors say 41-year-old Rufus Young of Freehold, 23-year-old Pedro Valentin Jr of Perth Amboy and 24-year-old Paul Robinson of Toms River all face charges of manslaughter and strict liability for a drug-induced death. Robinson and Valentin also face heroin distribution charges.
Young and Valentin were each being held Wednesday on $200,000 bail, while Robinson remained at large.
The charges stem from the February 2013 death of A 23-year-old woman who was found unresponsive in a Toms River home. Authorities say empty bags of heroin and a needle were found near her.
An autopsy determined that she died from a negative reaction to heroin, he said.
