KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) - A 53-year-old former music program office worker has been accused of stealing from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Jane Jameson, of Amherst, is accused of taking more than $59,000 from the university and the Kearney Area Symphony. Buffalo County Jail records said Jameson remained in custody on Wednesday. Online court records don’t list an attorney for her.

She’s charged with two counts of felony theft, one of unauthorized use of a credit card and one of forgery. Court documents say the thefts occurred between February 2011 and Feb. 25 this year.

Court documents say the university began looking into Jameson’s charges after it was noticed that some items Jameson bought seemed to be have a wedding theme. Officials knew she was planning a ceremony for her son.
