MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont House has voted not to concur with Senate changes to the fiscal 2015 general fund budget, meaning a conference committee will be called on to work out the differences between House and Senate versions.
One big difference is that the Senate calls for spending $2.9 million more than the House on reimbursements for health care providers who serve Medicaid patients. The Senate calls for a 2 percent boost in those payments, while the House had the increase at three-quarters of 1 percent.
Rep. Martha Heath, D-Westford and chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee, told her House colleagues there are other significant changes in the Senate’s version of the $1.4 billion general fund budget, and that they need further review.
