1 dead in Emporia house fire

EMPORIA, Kan. (AP) - Authorities in Emporia say one person has died in a house fire.

Crews were called to the single-story home around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and found the victim.

Police are helping investigate the cause. The victim’s name was being withheld while family members were notified.
