EATONVILLE, Wash. (AP) - The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado ripped a carport from an Eatonville home on Sunday.

The News Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1mSuql6 ) the tornado touched down for less than a minute and had an estimated top wind speed of 75 mph. The weather service said on Monday that the tornado was about 25 yards wide and had a path about two-tenths of a mile long.

Meteorologists say that before the tornado, there was brief heavy rain and nickel-sized hail.



Eatonville Mayor Mike Schaub said no one was hurt by the tornado, which happened about 5:45 p.m. on Sunday.
