TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Officials in Tulsa say the state’s first Costco store will be coming to south Tulsa next year.

The Tulsa World reports (https://bit.ly/QPTegb) that Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett and City Councilor Phil Lakin made the announcement Monday across the street from where the wholesale giant’s store will be built. A Costco representative says the store is expected to employ about 200 people. It will be the first Costco in Oklahoma and is expected to open in the summer of 2015.

Seattle-based Costco Wholesale Corp. is a membership-only store with locations in more than 40 states. Costco offers everything from candy and snack foods to office supplies, automotive goods, appliances, gardening equipment and more.
