ATLANTA (AP) - Forecasters have issued a tornado watch that includes more than a dozen counties in northwest Georgia.

The National Weather Service advisory covers several regions of northwestern Georgia including the Dalton and Rome areas. The tornado watch covers 17 counties, and is set to expire at 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Forecasters earlier Monday evening also issued a tornado warning for Coweta, Meriwether, Troup and Heard counties in western Georgia.



That advisory expired around 7:45 p.m. Emergency management officials in Heard and Coweta counties say there were no reports of major damage or injuries.

Calls and emails to emergency officials in Troup and Meriwether counties weren’t immediately returned.
