TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - Tacoma Public Schools agreed to pay $750,000 to a former Mount Tahoma High School special-needs student to settle allegations she was raped in a school restroom by a fellow special-needs student.

The News Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/QQ3Z1N) the incident occurred in March 2012, and the girl filed the lawsuit last year in federal court.

The boy involved was never charged. Police said they were unable to determine from the students’ accounts whether the sexual contact was consensual.
