QUAPAW, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John Doak plans to tour damage following a deadly tornado in Quapaw.

Doak will tour the areas in Quapaw starting at 9 a.m. Representatives from the Oklahoma Insurance Department’s Anti-Fraud and Consumer Assistance divisions have also been deployed to assist tornado survivors.

The tornado struck Quapaw around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, killing at least one person and injuring several more.



Ottawa County Emergency Management Director Joe Dan Morgan says the town of about 900 residents was heavily damaged by the tornado, including the fire department.
