JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The National Weather Service has called a tornado warning in three Mississippi counties, and flash flood warnings in 11 counties.

Forecasters say Doppler radar indicated a tornado near lambert - or 16 miles east of Clarksdale - moving northeast at 35 miles an hour.

It called a tornado warning until 6 p.m. in Coahoma, Panola, Quitman counties.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were in effect in those counties and in Tallahatchie and Tunica counties.

The Memphis office says flash flood warnings affect all of the mid-South, including Alcorn, Benton, DeSoto, Lee, Marshall, Prentiss, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica and Union counties in Mississippi.
